My goal(like almost everyone elses) is to become healther. I am going to try and take time out of my busy schedule and get to a healthier state/weight. I am going to try and take more time for my family and myself....
The Lord has been good to me and my family in 2010. He has brought me through sickness and kept my family safe another year and for this I am so very thankful.
2011 will mark my 7th year being in business as a professional photographer. My business has steadly grown and I want to thank each of you that has given me the opportunity to photograph your family. An extra thank you to those that have been loyal clients and for helping me become a better photographer. Occasionally I have come to a point where the quanity of business that I have is overwhelming and I have to make changes so I can continue to improve my photography and maintain a happy balance in my business and personal life. One thing I have learned in having a home based business is that you must be very self-disiplined and have a strong work ethic...and to have a sucessful business you must be a good business person.
Once again I am heavily booked almost a year out and am humbled by this. My goal is to deliver better photography and products than I ever have before...I will be putting folders up with my some of my custom designed products on facebook soon. If there is a product you would like to see me offer please let me know. Also I will be searching for models to model new products from some of my vendors.
As of January 1st, the retainer fee (session fee) will be $75.00. 10% off all orders if turned in 3 days. Baby plan baby's retainer-$45.00 with 15% off order if turned in 3 days. $150. for weekend sessions.
FINE PORTRAITURE TAKES TIME: I have several times of the year that are just "huge" -Senior Portrait Season, The Rose Garden Sessions(family's and children), and Fall Family Portrait/Christmas card. I schedule heavily for each of these times. Items with deadlines are met first. Just let me know of any deadlines that you have. If your family is photographed during these peak times your order may be delayed as I do all processing, retouching, designing and ordering myself.
To my baby plan momma's I am getting ready to order new props and backgrounds so if you have any new ideas please let me know what you would like to see...
I have a few prime dates for families for those of you that have been saying you need to get your family's pictures done...Now's the time....
I enjoy what I do...photographing families...seeing inside each of your lives...recording memories for your children and mine...May God Bless each of you and your familys in this upcoming year.

2010 Christmas Cards
CHRISTMAS MEMORIES:
I don't know about you but some of my favorite Christmas memories are going to my grandma's house as a child...There were always alot of people everywhere. When you opened the front door you were met with a gush of warm air filled with wonderful smells from the kitchen, and choas everywhere...all the grandkids running through the living room trying to play chase in the house, claiming they're not hungry so they can open the gifts, and the adults claiming they are hungry and teasing the kids how much they are going to eat...oh yea and that you can't open preasents until the dishes are washed...all the odd recipes your Aunt's would spring on the family....and when we did open the presents, paper would go flying through the air (gifts of clothing were removed in one swift continous motion and never even glanced at...)and you could loose a good size toddler in all the wrapping paper....and we always have to dig back through the paper to find a part of somebodys toy...
My grandma and grandpa are gone now, so now we go to my daddy's (my mom passed away 5 years ago). And it's the same way now..open the door and you're met with a gush of arm air filled with wonderful smells from the kitchen....Wouldn't seem like Christmas if I didn't get to enjoy this wonderful family the Lord has given me. Hold close to your heart the gifts that have already been given...May the Lord continue to bless you all with good health and happy memories....Cindy
This is a slideshow of images from my "other" familys. Thanks for allowing me to experience these special times in your lives...baby smiles, first steps and the love a child shows in it's smile when it listen's to it's mommy or daddy talking sweetly to it...

Merry Christmas from Cindy Thompson Photography
I know everyone is so excited about Christmas right now...I have enjoyed seeing all the excited faces as they have picked up their Christmas cards and prints. I am getting ready to put the Christmas slideshow up, waiting on a few more cards to get sent out.
It has been non-stop for me since September, In November I shot overtime, still "squeezing" in the entire month of August from when I was sick...I want to thank everone for being so patient and understanding through this time. I have dealt with a huge volume of customers and reorders and my goal as always is to deliver the highest quality products possible. So sorry that I was unable to get some of my regulars in this year. Fair Warning to everyone...I have very few dates available for 2011! I am humbled by the support of my "regulars", you truly are like famly.
From My family to yours, Merry Christmas and may God richly bless your family in the coming New Year...Cindy

What is Copyright?
I have had several people recently contact me about having my work printed elsewhere and they are asked do they own the copyright.
I would like to explain how this works. Whomever takes the picture owns the copyrights- that is the right to make copy's or to use the image to create other products...When you purchase a print you are just purchasing that copy and not the rights to make copy's. I retain all rights to my work and have my professional lab do all my printing to maintain the highest quality possible. I share images on facebook by uploading a watermarked image, these images are for viewing and not to be printed.
Almost all professional photographers retain the rights so that the image quality may be controlled. Rights to an image may be purchased for example in advertising or for publishing.
If you will notice copyright is everywhere now. You will usually have to check a box saying that you own the copyright before you can upload an image to the internet.
All major business's are aware of copyright. Some people have told me that some of the workers at the local chains come and look at their personal pictures before they are printed, the reason is usually workers in the photographic department have been educated on copyrights and if the store is sued for printing copyrighted works a portion of this can be passed down to the employee who printed it. I have also heard of comsumers pictures being refused to be printed because they looked too professional...
I hope this answers some of your questions. Cindy

Rylee
Rylee is growing up. But she still drags her pooh and tigger every where, you can look at them and tell they are well loved and to watch her get around with them you can tell she has them with her a lot. She can shift both to one arm and still try to pick something else up...it's like it doesn't even cross her mind to put them down....amazing how little girls are born to take care of their "babys"...

Family Portrait/Christmas Pictures
CHRISTMAS 2010: I specialize in Family Lifestyle Portraiture. I photograph as many family's as possible during the fall. I pride myself in very high quaility, which means a that I only photograph a limited amount of sessions.
I am now processing images and designing cards. I am focusing on getting all slideshows out so everyone can make their selections for their cards. Then I will focus on desiging everyone's cards. Please respond to your card sample as soon as you can so I can move on to the next order.
My goal is to have everyone's Christmas cards to them by the First week of December. (probabably won't make that, but I'm going to try). I will be honoring those that take advantage of the 3 day special (10% off) on your pricelist. This helps me keep a consistent work flow and I appreciate those that help me out.
Please turn in all card orders ASAP .
All Old orders, Seniors sessions, Sr. books and album designs will be done in December after I have met the Christmas card deadlines.

My Family's 2010 Punkin' Carvin'
This is some of the grandkids and great grandkids...just enjoying life. Most of the little one's were grossed out by the pumpkin "guts". They got over it when we had a pumpkin seed war. We kept having trouble with little Matthew, he would say "ball" and roll our pumpkins over and put out the candles.
We had an extra child come with one of the great grandkids (red headed little Emily)who happens to be one of my customers. Her mom told me when she was putting her to bed that night she told her, Momma, Ms. Cindy was at Paw Clints to take my picture of me carving a pumpkin, (she didn't even realize paw Clint is my daddy.)
Hope all of you have a Safe and Happy Halloween and get to spend it with your family.

Golden Memories
My husband and I recently took our grandson Ayden on his first squirrel hunt. Brought back memories of my childhood and hunting with my grandma...I found myself repeating all the things she taught me. Never point a gun at anything you don't intend to kill, be really quiet went you are hunting, watch for snakes, don't wave your arms, whisper, don't drag your feet, don't step on sticks, dirt is quieter than leaves, and I held his hand when he was afraid...
Ayden's wearing his daddy's coveralls from when he was a little boy in these pictures. We've also bought a 410 for all our grandkids to learn to hunt with, Ayden carried it about 10 feet and gave out carring it. You can see all through the pictures where his paw paw is carrying his gun for him. I would occasionally send Ayden to go where his paw paw was so I could get a picture of them together and he would take of running he yell "hey paw paw, maw maw Cindy wants a picture of me and you. WD would stop and look back at me and smile and pose for the picture. This was a beautiful day, one I think I'll remember the rest of my life...Don't forget to slow down and enjoy time with your family. This was the best squirrel hunt I have ever been on.....

Back at 110 Percent
Wanted to let everyone know that I am back to normal and feeling good after my month long kidney stone episode in August. There are days that I don't even remember during that time. Trying to get everything back to normal. Thanks for your prayers and patience during that time.

Hannah and Rachel
I haven't seen Hannah and Rachel in a little while and they have both grown so much. Rachel started out so shy, it was so funny, she didn't say a word when they first came in and when her momma had to go out to the car, it was like you turned on a motor, 100 miles and hour, and the things she would say in her little voice were just too cute.

Update on me and my kidney stone
History: August 4th-4:30 a.m. Kidney Stone moved and I went to ER. August 5th. Regular DR and Urologist. Stent put in that night. Lithotripsy on August 26 (22 days after I found out I have a kidney stone). Everywhere I go, everyone runs blood test, urine test,Xray and pregnancy test (no I am not pregnant) The stone was crushed and I'm passing "gravel", it's more like dust thank goodness. I feel like a miner panning for gold. Not for sure if there is anything big enough for them to test to see what my stones are made of. After the lithotripsy, As of today, Sunday August 29, my left kidney feels kinda sore with spasms and little twinges of pain?? The most painful thing for me right now is riding in a car on a bad road.
I sometimes feel like a little child, WD(my husband) will walk by and say "did you drink your water?" He has been so good, if you notice when you drive by our yard right now, it's him out tending to it, instead of me. He's been by my side, honoring a promise he made me one time, for better or worse and in sickness and health...Thank you baby! (I've tried extra hard to be a good patient).
Thanks to all of you that have been so considerate. I know how important your pictures are to you, especially the little ones. But to hear each of you tell me "you've got take care of yourself, your health is more important than our pictures, makes me realize I have the best customers/friends in the world. I promise to catch everyone up. To me the most important thing is to get the images taken. So I will photograph all postponed sessions asap. Anyone haveing a deadline please let me know and I will take care of that first.
I have been able to do slideshows and reorders. If anything is missing or incorrect please just let me know.
I will have the stent removed (without sedation) on August 9th. Please say a prayer for me that day. I plan on arriving highly medicated for that appointment!
Thanks to everyone for your patience during this time.

Cloessner Family
It's hard to get everyone together for a family portrait, seems like the older the kids get the harder it is. But the Cloessner's took the time to do it, before everyone was gone again...no matter how far they roam, all hearts return to home...Please tell James thanks for his service to our country.

Dalen
Little Dalen is growing so fast and getting curious about the world around him. It's amazing how when our children are at this age they are amazed by everything. Dalen has family that lives far away so pictures mean the world to a family like this. I am honored to capture Dalen's childhood so they can experience it. So thankful that my grandbaby is just down the road from me...something we each shouldn't take for granted.
